A full reroof of a historic cottage in Ironbridge Gorge, including structural roof repairs, new roof coverings, chimney repointing and the installation of two new skylights
Nestled in Ironbridge Gorge, this traditional cottage required a full reroof after years of weather damage caused broken tiles, sagging sections and weakened timbers.
The roof structure was reinforced before new coverings were installed, with clay tiles carefully matched to those of surrounding cottages. The chimney was fully rebuilt and repointed, and two rear roof windows were added to bring natural light into the upstairs rooms while preserving the cottage’s front appearance.
Care was taken to ensure the finished roof remained in keeping with the historic surroundings while providing a durable, low-maintenance solution. The completed reroof has improved both the stability and appearance of the property, offering long-term protection from the elements.
